Case Study

Crisis Management

A major outdoor advertising company had an agreement with a large municipality to build bus stop shelters in exchange for selling and placing advertising on the shelters. The shelters had electricity for lighting. Late one night a young man just getting off work sat on the bus stop bench and was electrocuted. It was tragic.

We were contacted around 4:00 a.m. the next morning and by 6:00 a.m. our team had gathered all the information that was known at the time and had developed a plan for dealing with the crisis that satisfied both the client and the city.

We were extremely proactive, discovered the cause of the accident, immediately took corrective action, stayed in front of the story and ultimately turned what could have been a PR disaster into a one-day story.

The company set up a trust for the family and was able to avoid litigation and weeks of bad publicity.
